In November, 2021 my mom arrived in Uganda just two days before I went into labor with our son Micah. What perfect timing!

A few days after Micah was born, we discovered that I had unknowingly had malaria, probably for about a month and a half. This caused my recovery from delivery to be long and complicated. Meanwhile, Micah was doing great. Patrick was a rockstar in those first weeks, helping me and the baby so much. And we were all so thankful to have my mom’s helping hands for two months as well.
