The Basics

“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9

I am on a journey in Uganda, knowing God will be with me wherever I go.

I am a CTEN missionary, serving with The Shepherd Center.    Just as Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd, caring for us in every way, we are to be shepherds to those around us who need to be guided in His ways.  The Shepherd Center (TSC) is a program that is focused on rescuing boys from a life on the streets of Kabale Town in Western Uganda.  Each boy has a unique story of what led him to the streets, and what his lifestyle has involved.  TSC seeks to provide for the boys’ physical, mental and spiritual needs as they are brought into the home.  When possible, TSC works to rehabilitate them with their families.  God has been using TSC to redeem brokenness and bring healing in the lives of many young boys and their families.

After 3 1/2 years of service with a different ministry in the country, January 2017 marked the beginning of a new season, serving with this ministry.  I have known Patrick (the Founder and Director) since 2010, and am excited to be working with him, the staff he has brought on board, and the boys who are being cared for.  I look forward to seeing how God will work in, through, and around me while at The Shepherd Center.

Stay connected with me on this journey through my blog.
