This is how I travel to town most of the time.
The motorcycles/drivers serve as taxis and are called bodas.
From either work or my house to town, it costs 1,000 Ugandan Shillings…about 40 cents.
This is my friend Bruce.
Sometimes Bruce finds me as I’m walking from my home to the main road; sometimes I call him when I need a ride.
Sometimes I go with one of a few others I’ve come to know.
Sometimes I will ride with a random driver.
It took me months to build up the courage to ride a boda while wearing a skirt, but now I don’t even think about it.
